It was a big honor for OTTO Pharmaceuticals, because on September 23, 2019, for the first time the Head of the Indonesia Drug and Food Control Agency (BPOM RI), Dr. Ir. Penny K. Lukito, MCP, visited to see the facilities of the OTTO plant in Bandung. During the visit, several other BPOM officials also attended, such as Dra. Rita Endang, Apt., M. Kes (Deputy I BPOM RI), Dra. Reri Indriani, Apt., M.Sc (Deputy III BPOM RI), Dr. Lucia Rizka Andalusia, Apt., M.Pharm., MARS (Director of Drug Registration for BPOM RI) and I Gusti Ngurah Bagus Kusuma Dewa, S.Sc., Apt., MPPM (Head of Central of BPOM Bandung).
The event began with a luncheon for the BPOM team altogether with all OTTO management. Followed by remarks from Mr. Jimmy Sudharta (CEO of Mensa Group) and Mrs. Penny K. Lukito, and then souvenir exchanges by both parties. As a series of the events, OTTO invited Mrs. Penny and other BPOM teams to join the plant tour .
During the visit, Mrs. Penny K. Lukito expressed her admiration for the sophistication of the OTTO factory facilities. She was also very confident that OTTO will fully dedicate in supporting government programs in health industry. For now, OTTO has already contributing to the Health BPJS program and producing generic drugs.
BPOM is also very supportive to OTTO export activity, because this is in line with the government’s plan to explore domestic medicines abroad. OTTO is now preparing to equip its factory with halal certification, to meet the eligibility qualifications of pharmaceutical factories as one of the discourses to be announced by the government.
Hopefully the support from BPOM RI can complement the weapons of OTTO team in spreading its wings in health industry of Indonesia and abroad.
