In line with the government’s program to suppress drug imports and increase production and export of domestic medicine, the Mensa Group through one of its subsidiaries, PT OTTO Pharmaceuticals (OTTO), is affiliated with one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Korea, Chon Kun Dang Pharmaceuticals Corporation (CKD Pharma). This joint venture named CKD OTTO focuses on anti-cancer medicines, and has received halal certificates from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), which makes CKD OTTO the first pharmaceutical company with halal certification which is very important for  Indonesia culture.

After starting construction in 2016, finally on July 9th, 2019 CKD OTTO celebrated the official opening ceremony of its factory facilities in Cikarang Bekasi. The inauguration was carried out by stone signing by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Mrs. Nila Farid Moeloek. Then followed by ribbon cutting procession by Mrs. Nila Farid Moeloek (Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia), Ms. Penny Lukito (Head of the Food and Drugs Administration of the REpublic of Indonesia), Mr. Chang Beom Kim (Ambassador of the Republic of Korea for Indonesia), Mr. Jang Han Rhee (Chairman of CKD Pharma Korea), Mr. Jimmy Sudharta (Chairman of Mensa Group) and Mr. Hee Mok Won (Head of Korean Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association), and also accompanied by the directors of CKD OTTO, CKD Pharm and Mensa Group.

In the series of events, CKD OTTO also received Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Marketing Authorization (MA) certificates from BPOM, which was submitted by Mrs. Penny Lukito (Head of BPOM) to Mr. Baik In Hyun (President Director of CKD OTTO). And at the end of the event a plant tour was held for VIP guests.

With this cooperation and support from the government, hopefully CKD OTTO can continue to develop its business in the pharmaceutical industry, especially anti-cancer drugs, not only in Indonesia, but also worldwide. Congratulation and success for CKD OTTO and Mensa Group!
