To fulfill a solid healthcare business, Mensa Group widens its range of business by acquiring two pharmaceutical manufacturing companies, Otto Pharmaceutical Industries and PT Pertiwi Agung (Landson).

The two manufacturing companies have entered the regional market and comitted to deliver quality products to its customers by continuous quality improvement.

Otto Pharmaceutical Industry

PT OTTO Pharmaceutical Industries was established in April 1963 in Bandung, West Java. In 1981, the ownership of the company was  taken over by Mensa Group,  during which time  a  management  re-organization took place   including the  improvement  and the addition of  production facility  within  the plant.

Since then P.T. OTTO continues to expand, developing    both   the manufacturing plant and the company is   human resources.   In line with the confidence gained by the medical doctors and public towards the quality of Otto is products, provided Otto the opportunity to improve her sales and market share.

In the beginning of 2007, to meet the  cGMP standard (required by  BPOM   -  local  ministry of  Food and Medicines  and  in line to  the Healthcare  ASEAN Harmonization ) and to manufacture products  meeting  International standard, PT OTTO  began the  planning  of   building  a new manufacturing plant.  In September 2007  the construction was  officially marked  through  a ground breaking event at the  site   attended by  both  management and corporate  executives from Otto and  Mensa group .

The company   is in the process of   setting up a new formulation facility for manufacturing tablets, capsules, syrup, dry syrup, cream, oral, sachets and injections scheduled to be ready in 2011.  There will be two separate buildings of production facility:

-  Non Betalactam   for non sterile oral therapeutical drugs and injectable solution

- Cephalosporin group for non sterile oral therapeuticals drugs and inject able powder 

For the whole new plant construction Otto appointed NNE Pharmaplan as their consultant    for the design concept to meet the standard of cGMP , PICs and EU (the Pharmaplan group of companies has more than 450 highly skilled engineers and has successfully carried out over 150 turnkey engineering projects worldwide).

PT Pertiwi Agung ( LANDSON)

Since becoming part of the Mensa group   Landson expands its product range in synthetic drugs and herbal medicines.  Through a comprehensive marketing strategy  supported by more than 700 fully dedicated sales force, Landson has achieved a significant market share and  established herself to be one of the growing  pharmaceutical company in Indonesia.

Landson received the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certificate in July 1994 and Quality Management System EN ISO 9001-2000 Number 04100-30482 certificate in March 2003. Recently, Landson upgraded her plant to meet with the current GMP requirements.   Based on the  2007  IMS    data , Landson  is  indicated as   one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical industry in Indonesia and  the company  is also   keen in expanding her position into the  global market, exporting  into more  than   10   countries including Nigeria ,  Mongolia and Singapore.
